Newspaper clippings, a cross country road trip, and hours of research revealed the story of Eleanor McKinney, a notorious con artist at the turn of the century. By vamping the wealthy and innocent she resided in some of the world's most elegant suites and meanest prisons.

Synopsis

Sequestered in the folds of family histories are stories often kept hidden. Aunt Eleanor's Men reveals such a story. Eleanor McKinney's easy way with languages, her cunning, knowledge and self confidence made her a formidable artist of the con, and serial wife of rich men. It is an implausible story of an adventurous woman's encounter with the vicissitudes of fortune and reality of incarceration. Her story resides in the tumultuous background of the early twentieth century. It is presented in two parts. The first chronicles Eleanor's pernicious life. The second is written by Eleanor's adopted daughter, Cynthia, who in 1922 serially published her "Confessions of a Trained Swindler."
